It was an evening to remember for Jack and Equine America Q Paravtti N (Gillian) tonight in the Dallamires Stable Cup.
Starting 18th out of 28 starters, Jack put in a strong round jumping only the third clear round of the 1.55m class, qualifying him and Gillian for the jump off.
Only 2 more combinations jumped clear in the first round, bringing the total jump off to 5.
With only 3 of these combinations clear in the jump off, Jack and Gillian showed they meant business crossing the line with an impressive 2 second advantage in 35.77 seconds, ahead of 2nd placed Lorenzo de Luca on the chestnut stallion Jappeloup, who finished in 37.77.
Jack said “ Gillian is a naturally quick horse so I knew I just had to keep her in a rhythm and stick to my plan.
HOYS is always a special one to win and it was even more so to win the Dallamires Stable Cup which is supported by cousin, George Whitaker and his wife.”
